It’s a little bit sad to come to the realization that this will be my last time writing those words for an entire year. Yes, it is finally time to bring summer 2014 here at CBB to a close. This was by far my favourite summer here as director for a multitude of different reasons; the greatest staff that any camp would be lucky to have. Though I say it time and time again, the spirit that the campers have this summer is astounding and unlike that of anything I’ve seen before as Director at CBB.
Today, we had a great last day. In the morning, the campers and staff cleaned the camp and their bunks and then all of the staff helped the campers neatly pack all of their things so that they are sure to return home with, hopefully, everything that they brought. Then the campers had time to relax for the rest of the day and play a few games with their staff and friends one last time before they come home tomorrow.
At night, we had our annual banquet, with the Chinese decor throughout the dining hall. Our arts department did a fantastic job planning it this year and, along with the help of the kitchen staff, turned one of the most popular dinners at camp into one of the most popular banquet dinners we’ve had at camp! We even had the little cardboard takeout boxes for that authentic feel.
To end off the great day that we had today, the maintenance staff put together their annual bonfire for everyone which I swear must have been at least 30 feet tall. Something truly amazing to witness. So that is that, this blog will bring CBB summer 2014 to a close and I cannot wait to see you all at the buses tomorrow morning to get your kids and hear everything that happened with them this summer.
Until next summer everyone!
Josh @ the camp that will be even better next year!
