So here we are, the end of first session 2014. This was a great month for us here at CBB, along with having our greatest play ever: Frozen! We also had a carnival, a great dance show, the most intense Theme Day I’ve ever seen and had the most Junior Girls and Boys in camp since I signed on as director four short years ago.
Today was a bittersweet day. Although it was a fantastic day and night, it’s still sad to send off campers and end a month of camp. Today, our campers had breakfast and right after went to their bunks for cleanup and packing where they were helped by their staff and unit head. At eleven o’clock we had our dedication ceremony for Marvin Carsley and his guests at our brand new gym. For those of you who may not know, Marvin Carsley is the very generous philanthropist and alumni of CBB who donated the gym. We could not be more grateful.
Later in the night we had our annual banquet and slideshow. The Arts and Media staff did an incredible job on both. The theme for banquet was Candyland and it really felt like I was walking through the Peppermint Forest and Candy Castle.
For all parents whose children are leaving tomorrow for the summer, I can’t wait to see you all next year to make more great memories. For those of you who are staying the extra three weeks I can’t wait to see you all at the busses on Wednesday morning to get ready to make second session of CBB 2014 even better than the first, if that’s possible!
