Summer 2013 is about to come to a close, and we went out with a bang! Most of the day was spent packing, but we had a few surprises up our sleeves. Firstly, our campers were treated to an amazing desert during lunch. One of our camp alumni traveled through the markets of Montreal to get special Sauvage berries for all the campers to enjoy with ice cream!
Once our campers completed most of their packing and cleaning, they all headed to the beach for General Swim. Ice cream continued to be a theme because our campers got to enjoy some TCBY frozen yogurt at our final GS of the summer.
Before dinner we had the opportunity to honour a very special woman, nurse Bonnie Rubenstein. For the past 30 years, she has worked tirelessly to ensure our campers and staff have all the medication they need. I truly believe that we have the best camp infirmary in North America, and I have Bonnie to thank for that. Today, we renamed the infirmary to, Bonnie’s Place. Her legacy will now live on for decades to come, and we could not be more proud.
Tonight’s pirate-themed banquet was a huge success. Our head staff not only dressed up as pirates and served the food to the campers. Our head staff and head counselors finally got to show off their annual unit plaques. This year was full of amazing designs that will be serve as a form of history and legacy for decades to come. The food was particularly amazing tonight as Jordi served steak (YES, STEAK!), grilled chicken, fruit and much more.
Our campers then proceeded to culmination where they got a chance to see their staff perform songs written just for them! We were then all treated to the slideshow which was produced by our media team. The campers and staff sure loved it and I’m sure you will too. We ended the night with an amazing fire at the beach built by our amazing and dedicated maintenance team! The fire huge and definitely a sight to see. Our staff then led the whole camp in a few songs which gave me shivers!
We’ve made some incredible changes at camp based on the information provided to us by parents. We view feedback as a gift. Please take the few minutes and fill out the survey below.
